JOHN MILLER & ISABELLA SEERIE

Isabel Duff Seerie, daughter of Edward Seerie and Margaret McLean Duff,  was born November 19, 1863, in Castleton, Parish of Eassie & Nevay, Angus, Scotland, and died July 10, 1950 at 6 Lammerton Terrace, Dundee, Scotland.  She married John Fyffe Miller on November 28, 1884 in North Mains of Happas, Parish of Inverarity, Angus, Scotland.  

John Fyffe Millar, son of James Millar and Annie Low Fyfe of the Parish of Inverarity,  was born December 12, 1854 in Binns, Parish of Carmyllie, Angus, Scotland, and died July 6, 1926 at 6 Lammerton Terrace, Dundee, Scotland. John Fyffe Millar grandparents were Robert Millar and Wilhelmina Ruthven Bell  of North Happas, Parish of Inverarity, Angus, Scotland.

Isabella Seerie and husband John Miller remained in Scotland when the Seerie family immigrated to the United States. John and Isabella are buried in the Inverarity Churchyard, Parish of Inverarity, Angus (now Forfarshire), Scotland.

John Millar owned 120 acres in the North Mains of Happas, Parish of Inverarity, where he made his living as a farmer, employing five people.  After retirement, John and Isabella moved to Dundee where they built their house and named it "Brooklynn" located at 6 Lammerton Terrace.

 

Lammerton Terrace is a broad road stretching between Mains Loan and Pitkerro Road.  The original house is still standing and is semi-detached, stone built villa – part of a row.

     Mary Young Christies was born August 10, 1888; died January 27, 1972 in North Happas, Parish of Inverarity, Angus, Scotland.

2.  Wilhelmina Millar, born July 13, 1887 in North Mains of Happas, Parish of Inverarity, Angus, Scotland;
     died November 29, 1918 in North Happas, Parish of Inverarity, Angus, Scotland.

3.  Annie Fyffe Millar, born November 16, 1888 in North Happas, Parish of Inverarity, Angus, Scotland;
     died July 12, 1980 in Dundee, Scotland. She married David Adamson Robertson December 31, 1917 in North Happas,
     Parish of Inverarity, Scotland, son of Alexander Robertson and Isabella Cummine.

4. James Miller, born May 22, 1890 in North Mains of Happas, Parish of Inverarity, Angus, Scotland;
    died December 13, 1944 in Denver, Denver County, Colorado. Buried at Riverside Cemetery in Seerie family plot,
    Denver, Colorado, USA.
    Fact:   April 01, 1912, S. S. Caledonia arrived in Port of New York. James states he is visiting his uncle David Duff Seerie,
    1858 High St, Denver. Nearest living relative is father John Miller of North Happis. James states he is 6 feet 5 inches tall.

5. John Millar, born January 22, 1892 in North Mains of Happas, Parish of Inverarity, Angus, Scotland;
    died May 07, 1975 in Ninewells, Dundee, Scotland. He married Robina Kennedy Gleig January 29, 1919
     in Hatton of Fothringham, Scotland, daughter of Robert Gleig and Annie Carter. She was born About. 1892.

6. Maggie Duthie Price Millar, born February 11, 1895 in North Happas, Parish of Inverarity, Angus, Scotland;
    died July 25, 1968 in Edinburgh, Fife, Scotland. She married Robert Smith.

7.  David Millar, born November 25, 1896 in North Happas, Parish of Inverarity, Angus, Scotland;
     died May 01, 1967 in Monifieth, Angus, Scotland. He married Isabella Aitken Ritchie Morrison.

8. Robert Millar, born June 04, 1899 in North Happas, Parish of Inverarity, Angus, Scotland;
    died April 22, 1976 in Dundee, Scotland. He married Violet Dorothy Wilson.

9. Rachel Millar, born October 01, 1901 in North Happas, Parish of Inverarity, Angus, Scotland;
    died March 09, 1990 in Dundee, Scotland.
