CHANGES BETWEEN 1810 & 1820: Adults: 20-26 & age 26 and over

Adults age 26 and over: There are 21 adults (7m,14f) in the 1810 census. Four additional males, aged 16-26, born between 1784-1794, are expected to become adults aged 26 and over by 1820. Without consideration for new arrivals, departures or deaths 25 adults are forecasted for the 1820 census, (11m, 14f). Actual 1820 census was 14 adults (5m,9f), a loss of 11 adults (-6m,-5f, = -11). Five young adults (-4m, -1f), age 20-26, born between 1794-1800. This brings a total decrease of 18 adults offset by a gain of 3 adults for a net loss of 15 adults between 1810 and 1820. .

Edmond, Brooking and Christopher no longer live in King & Queen County. Brooking Taylor removed to Kentucky where he died in 1841 in Franklin County. Brooking Taylor and wife Ann Gayle married in about 1806 had 14 children: Sally, Louise, James M, Henry Lee, William G., Elizabeth, Polly, George M., Thomas, Phoebe, John G., Brooking, Ann, and Saphronia Gale. Searches of records yielded only one possible clue to the identity of Christopher Taylor. A Christopher C. Taylor served under Captain Eli Ferguson's Virginia Militia in the War of 1812.

Brooking Taylor (b.1784), is the son of Edmund Taylor and Elizabeth Temple of Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Brooking's older brother Edmund Taylor III (b. ~1759) married Millicent Shelton of Pittsylvania County, VA about 1775. Edmund and Millicent had six male children born between 1775 and 1790 of which the first two males, born between 1775 and 1780, have not been identified. This family removed to Lincoln County, Tennessee sometime between 1810-1820 from Iredale County, North Carolina. Land Records of King & Queen County for 13 February 1826 include a Deed: Edmund Lyne, King and Queen County, and Brooking Taylor and wife, Ann, of Kentucky, to Rueben M. Garnett, land in King and Queen County.

CHANGES BETWEEN 1810 & 1820: Ages Infant to 10

There were 14 (7m, 7f) children born between 1800-1810, age 10 and under. By 1820 these children would be aged 10 to 20 overlapping into the 16-26 age group by four years. The 1820 census enumerated 5 individuals in the age brackets 10-16 and 16-26, (1m, 4f) for a loss of 9 children. Six of these children were in the households of Brooking & Christopher Taylor (-3m, -3f). The William D. Taylor family decreased by 3 (-2m,-1f) and Caleb Taylor by one female (-1f).
