In Pursuance of General Order No. 35
Department of the Missouri, dated St. Louis,
December 24, 1862, and in obedience to an Order
from the War Department, made Sept 24,
1862.  I have ascertained that Zachariah
Taylor, a negro Boy
color Dark Brown, height Five feet 2
inches, aged about 14 years, is to be
considered a captive of war, and as such is entitled to the protection of the officers of the United States.

Given by marshal Springfield, in the county of Greene
State of Missouri the first day of June 1863
