DEATH OF CHARLES E. TENNEY

JUNE 6, 1863.

Charles E. Tenney, of Royalston, a member of Co. E 53d Regiment M. V., died on the 26th of April at the University hospital, New Orleans. Lieut. B. H. Brown, in communicating the sad intelligence says:

"He died of chronic diarrehea and was buried in a beutiful place in Cypress Grave Cemetery. We have lost a brother soldier, one who was always ready to do his duty, and whom we all loved. It makes us feel so sad to leave so many of our boys, but we have one consolation-they died doing their duty to their country. The climate kills more of our soldiers than the bullets. Our Regiment has lost some 50 men and only 4 have been killed in battle." (Worcester Aegis and Transcript; June 6, 1863; pg. 2, col. 4.)
