The Blondel La Rougery Family owned the Blondel Plantation on the island of Martinique.  Sebastien Blondel was knighted by the King of France for his valiant defense of the crown during the French Revolution.  At that time the suffix "La Rougery" was given to him by the King and added to his last name, which was, of course Blondel.

The first link above is to an article about the Blondel plantation on the island of Martinique and the "Miracle" that saved it from being consumed in the Mount Pele volcanic eruption on Martinique in 1902.
The second link is the France & Martinique Blondel Genealogy & History Page.   It contains scanned pages from the book:  "Personnes Et Familles A La Martinique Au XVII Siecle" and many links to genealogical data submitted by Jean Claude Blondel La Rougery regarding the Blondel family on Martinique and in France.
The third link is a map of the island and the fourth is a brief history of the island.
