Charles Backus Acker - Photograph - Circa Mid-1920s Charles Backus Acker was born on May 19, 1867, in Uniontown, New Jersey. Charles was the eighth of Mary and Josiah Acker's children. Charles was married to Agnes Linen. The couple had no children. Charles died in December 1951 with burial on December 20, 1951, in the Lowery family plot located at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY.1

Charles, like his brother Joseph, was a master mason. He worked on the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge.
