By the time the 1930 United States Census was taken, the parents of Florence E. (Merklee) Delaney had moved from Brooklyn, New York, their place of residence in 1920, to Menlo Park, San Mateo County, California. Cornelius Merklee appears to have retired by this time, and he and his wife Josephine are living in a rented house at 866 Partridge Road. They have a roomer named Edmond Veyer in the household.
