This image shows some of the U.S. Navy officers who had been on Landing Craft Infantry (LCI) ships that were involved in various World War II operations in the Mediterranean area. In September 1944, the personnel were sailing on the USS Bayfield from Naples, Italy to Norfolk, Virginia for other assignments.
