Franklyn Lowery Delaney

A note about this page: I will be writing much more about Frank's life and that of his family. However, that is a very big project and I will add new segments to this brief outline history in the future.

Although photographs and images of documents are minimal at this point, I will be scanning and posting them over time.

They were engaged on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1941 at the home of Frank and Florence (Dorothy’s sister) Siconolfi in Elmont, Long Island, New York. Dorothy and Frank Delaney were married on April 12, 1942 in Lynbrook, Long Island, New York. Their honeymoon party was at Billy Rose’s Diamond Horseshoe Restaurant, with Dorothy’s sister Ella Abbott and Jo and Martin Delaney. After graduating from college, Frank was employed by the Census Bureau in Washington, DC, where he worked on the 1940 census until he went into the U.S. Navy when WWII broke out. In August 1948, Dorothy and Robert joined him and they lived for three years in El Rio, California, which is located near Oxnard. In March of 1951, they moved to 551 Frances Street in Ventura, California, where Frank lived until his death.
