Notes for Rev. Peter Proffer
Peter came to Missouri with his parents around 1818 where he grew up and married on February 11, 1836 to Eleanor Melvina Hanley. She was born on October 29, 1821 in Kentucky.
After their marriage they lived for a short while on an 80 acre farm he purchased on Whitewater Creek. Sometime between the years of 1840 and 1850 he sold this farm and moved to Stoddard County where he lived the remainder of his life, dying there on April 5, 1887. During his lifetime he was a Methodist Minister.
