Nine Australian infantry battalions of the
Royal Australian regiment (RAR) served in Vietnam from
1965-1973 and it's members brought much distinction and
credit upon themselves and the Australian Army. The
Battles of Long Tan, Coral. Balmoral, Baria and Binh Ba
are now etched in history in the true tradition and
spirit of ANZAC. |

Mike English from Alpha Company has written a
detailed history of 3 RAR's Tour Of Duty in South Viet
Nam 1971. If you are interested in how an Infantry
Battalion operated in South Viet Nam, then this is an
excellent book and will give the reader an insight into
the inner workings of an Australian Combat Battalion. |

An excellent book that gives 4 RAR's side of
the 1971 Tour Of Duty. There were times that 3 RAR and 4
RAR co-operated in joint operations. This book shows what
4 RAR were doing. The book also gives a detailed account
of going through Rookie training, preparing for Service
Overseas ... an excellent book that gives good detail on
how 4 RAR Infantry soldiers operated. Although they
operated differently from members of Charlie Company, it
still is interesting. |

Sergeant Robert "Dogs" Kearney's first Tour of Duty in South Viet Nam in 1966 with 5 RAR. This is a story of a specialist rifle Platoon ... The Reconnaisance Platoon. Again their story is different to Charlie
Company 3 RAR's story, but it adds to the rich tapestry
of the Australians in Viet Nam. |

THE UNTOLD STORY OF THE AUSTRALIAN DOGS OF WAR Peter Haran was posted to Vietnam in 1967 when
he was nineteen years old. Before leaving for Vietnam,
Haran completed an intensive dog handling training
course. Caesar, a black labrador-kelpie mix would have a
huge impact on Peter Haran's life. |
