Arthur STUTLER - was born 27 Sep 1845 in Doddridge Co., VA. He married Ella J. SHERWOOD on 3 June 1869 in Doddridge Co., VA. Ella is the daughter of John SHERWOOD, born 23 Dec 1817, and Eleanor BEE, who died 15 Mar 1869. Ella was born 25 Sep 1852.

Arthur enlisted in Company G, Independent Exempts in Dec 1862. He re-enlisted in Company B, 7th West Virginia Infantry in 1864. He was discharged at the close of the war. He served in the musicians department. He was elected to the board of education in 1881. He was a sawyer by trade, and owned a portable mill.



David R. STUTLER - was born in Gallia County, Ohio on 25 Apr 1824. His parents are Elias STUTLER, who died in 1868 in Harrison Co., Virginia, and Nancy HUGHES. He married Carloline RICHARDS on 12 Sep 1843 in Harrison Co., Virginia. Caroline was born 5 June 1825 in Ohio. Her parents are William RICHARDS and Elizabeth ARMSTRONG.

David R. was constable of Grant District, and had one of the oldest settled farms in the district.




Isaac STUTLER, M.D. - was born 23 Aug 1820 in Harrison County, Virginia. He is one of the 13 children of Elias STUTLER, born in 1782, and Nancy HUGHES, born in 1787. Isaac married Barbara MOORE on 9 Aug 1822. Barbara is the daughter of William MOORE and Mary ARNOLD.

Stradler (Statler), Jacob - died in 1778, a soldier in the Revolution. His grave is in the Price Memorial Cemetery in Monongalia County, WV, near Olive Church.
