101.    Deacon JOSEPH FREEMAN (Hannah Brewster, Daniel, Benjamin, Jonathan, William), married first, November 22, 1732, November 22, 1732, MEHITABLE, daughter of James TYLER, who died July 25, 1743; married second, March 8, 1744, ANNA ROCKWELL, who died January 12, 1752; married third, May 10, 1757, MARY STORY. He died at Preston, Conn., March 19, 1780.
   Joseph Freeman was ensign of a Train Band of the 1st Co., May, 1733, and of the 4th Co., 1752. He was one of the committee to rectify the dividing line between Norwich and Preston, Conn. in 1740.

   HANNAH FREEMAN (Hannah Brewster, Daniel, Benjamin, Jonathan, William), married November 6-7, 1738, as third wife, Captain WILLIAM WITTER, son of Ebenezer and Dorothy (Morgan) Witter of Preston, Conn., born there, May, 1707, and died there, September, 1798. She died at Preston, April 19, 1759.
   They lived at Preston. William Witter was a justice of the peace for New London County.

   DANIEL BREWSTER (John, Daniel, Benjamin, Jonathan, William), married first, May 31, 1753, PHEBE WILLIAMS of Groton, Conn., who died September 13, 1758; married second, October 4, 1764, ELIZABETH, daughter of Asa and Marvin (Holmes) SWAN of Stonington, Conn., born there, December 8, 1741; died at Salisbury, Conn., August 4, 1817. He died at Salisbury, March 31, 1814.
   Daniel Brewster removed from Norwich, Conn., to Salisbury, whre, in 1778, he purchased a farm from Governor Chittenden of Connecticut, which comprised five hundred acres of land with a two-story brick house, the bricks in the building having been imported from England. The accompanying illustration shows the house as it was orignally built, except the wooden extension at the rear, which was added some years later. The house is still standing and in good condition.

104.    SARAH BREWSTER (John, Daniel, Benjamin, Jonathan, William), married November 9, 1752, MOSES PARK, son of Robert Park, born at Norwich, Conn., in 1733.
   Moses Park was a lieutenant in the French War, and was with General Wolfe at the storming of Quebec.

105.    EUNICE BREWSTER (John, Daniel, Benjamin, Jonathan, William), married November 8, 1770, as second wife, OLIVER CRARY, Esquire, son of Robert ad Elizabeth crary of Voluntown, Conn., born there, in 1731-32; died at Preston, Conn., August 20, 1806.
   They lived at Preston.

   EPHRAIM BREWSTER (Jonathan, Daniel, Benjamin, Jonathan, William), married MARGERY, daughter of Elder Paul Parks of Preston, Conn. She died in February, 1841, aged 88 years and 2 months. He died at Woodstock, Vt., May 10, 1810, aged 79 years. {transcribers note: tombstone shows May 16, 1810; both are buried in the Smith Cemetery; also see death notices for Ephraim and Margery}
   In 1775 Ephraim Brewster removed from Preston, Conn., to Woodstock, Vt., he being the first settler of District No. 14 of Woodstock, and in 1776 he moved his wife and two children there. He was a successful farmer and prominent in public affairs of Woodstock, ready to assist in every improvement. "He served in the last French and Indian War." His wife lived to see the fifth generation of her descendants.

DR. EPHRAIM, m. Sept. 11, 1811, as her 2d husband, Augusta, dau. of Col. Ebenezer Crafts and sister of Governor Crafts, she b. at Sturbridge, Mass., June 27, 1773; d. at Craftsbury, Vt., Dec. 18, 1861. He studied medicine; was appointed an army surgeon at opening of War of 1812, and during the first year was drowned in Lake Champlain. Ch.:
1. Dr. Ephraim Brewster, b. Oct. 10, 1812; d. at Craftsbury, Sept., 1870; m. Dec. 5, 1839, Eliza Bagley of St. Johnsbury, Vt., who d. Sept. 3, 1869. A physician at Craftsbury. Ch.:
(1) Ephraim Henry Brewster, b. Nov. 10, 1842; enl. in Civil War, Co. I, 1st Vt. Cav.; d. at Annapolis, Md., Dec. 5, 1864.

107.    Deacon JONATHAN BREWSTER (Jonathan, Daniel, Benjamin, Jonathan, William), married at Preston, Conn., August 28, 1755 (P. T. Rec.), August 26, 1754 (family rec.), ZIPPORAH, daughter of Ephraim and Hannah (Witter) SMITH of Stonington, Conn., born at Preston, July 10, 1735; died at Worthington, Mass., January 19, 1794. He died at Worthington, April 13, 1800.
   Jonathan Brewster removed from Preston, Conn., to Worthington, Mass., in 1777. He was selectman of Worthington 1778-81, '84-92, '94-97; representative to the General Court 1778-79, '82, '84-87, '93-95, and he was deacon of the Congregational Church of Worthington.
