ABEL CARRICO
(Tradition says he was a French Huguenot) said to have been one of three brothers who came from France. He first lived in Charles Co. Md.; made deeds there 1730, 1736, 1738, 1758 [1758 to Biggs; 1758 to Simms].  In the 1755 (1785) Cencus of Virginia, he was head of a family of "9 (nine) white souls" in Fairfax Co. Tradition says he was a man of small stature.  He died while on a visit at the home of his son Rev. William, and was buried there in Grayson Co. Va.
He was not mentioned in his fathers will in 1764 but was living at that time.

Methodist Preacher b. in Md.; went to N.C. & married there (tradition); then went to Grayson Co. Va. & bought 260 acres of  land in 1802; this land had been taken up by Edward Smith in 1796; conveyed to Rev. William Carrico in 1802. It lays on the waters of Steven's Creek, Grayson Co.  He later took up more land from the Goverment. The land now (1932) owned by heirs of Creed and Andrew Carrico.
