Edward B. Carrico
was born in Washington County, Ky., in December, 1815. His father, Levi
Carrico, was a native of Maryland and settled in Washington County when
a boy. Edward B. was reared on a farm, and received a limited
education.
He came to this county in March, 1854, and settled three miles
southwest
of Curdsville, where he still resides. He was married Jan. 11, 1848, to
Martha Shircliff, daughter of Joseph Shircliff, a native of Maryland
and
an early settler of Nelson County, Ky. Of their seven children, six are
living
--- Susan F., Joseph E., Thomas T., Julia A.,
James
R. and William L. Charles N. died in infancy. Mr. Carrico is a Trustee
of St. Alphonsus' Catholic Church, of which his family are members.

John O. Warren,
born in Marion County, Ky., May 8, 1834, is a son of John Warren, a
native
of Washington County, Ky., and a grandson of John Warren, who came from
Maryland to Kentucky in an early day. He is a descendant of the Lord
Baltimore
Catholics, who settled Maryland. He was reared on a farm and received a
common-school education. He was married July 6, 1857, to
Annie,
daughter
of Pius Carrico. Of their nine children, only seven are living

Mary
J., Martin, Catharine, William, Mizella, Marion and T. Edgar. He came
to
this county in 1866. He owns 125 acres in this county and forty-two in
Marion County. He is a member of the Catholic church.

Henry Able,
born in Nelson County, Ky., Feb. 17, 1828, is a son of John Able,
deceased,
a native of Hardin County, Ky. His ancestors were from England and
first
settled in Maryland, and afterward came to Kentucky. Mr. Able was
reared
on a farm and has always followed that occupation, having now 150 acres
of well-improved. He received his education in the early subscription
schools
of this vicinity. He came to Daviess County in 1849, and settled in
Knottsville
Precinct. Jan. 14, 1853, he was married to
Margaret Carrico, a
native
of Washington County, Ky., but a life-long resident of this county,
have
been brought here by her parents when less than a year old. They have
had
fifteen children, twelve now living

Martha,
John O., Marion, William, Clarence, Annie, Ella, Evertt, James L.,
Clara
M. and an infant son. Mr. and Mrs. Able are members of the Catholic
church.

Benjamin
T. Aull, farmer, Knottsville, was born in Nelson County, Ky., April
27, 1826, and is a son of Benjamin Aull, a native of Maryland, who came
to Kentucky when a boy, and brought his family to this county in the
fall
of 1826, where the subject of this sketch was reared on a farm, and
educated
in the common or subscription schools. He was married Jan. 16, 1847, to
Miss Joanna, daughter of James Carrico. They had twelve
children,
of whom but six are living
-- William, Thomas,
Francis, Helena,
Marshall and Anna. One daughter, Catherine, died in August, 1872, at
the
age of eighteen years. Mr. Aull recently sold his farm in this
precinct,
and now owns a homestead of byt twenty-nine acres, at Knottsville,
where
he lives rather retired. Mr. Aull is a worthy member of the Catholic
church.

Henry Carico was
born in Montgomery County, Md., April 18, 1808, and was a son of
Alexander
and Mary (Sedgwick) Carico, also natives of Maryland. They died
in
Indiana about twenty years ago, his father being about eighty years of
age. Henry was the fifth of nine children. He went from
Maryland
to Pennsylvania and remained a year; then came West to Ohio and
remained
two years; then came to Kentucky and settled in New Springfield,
Washington
County. After living there ten years he went to Casey County and
lived till 1860, when he came to Daviess County and bought a farm of
200
acres of Wm. Martin, near Yellow Creek, paying $7,000 for it. He
lived on it four years and then sold it to Milton Boulware for $7,300
and
bought 255 acres on the California road for $5,000. He sold that
to William Clark for $7,650. In 1876 he bought his present
residence
of forty-two acres, a mile south of Owensboro. He was married
Feb.
1, 1828, to Nancy Worthington, a native of Casey County, Ky., born Feb.
3, 1810. She died in 1875, leaving seven children. Mr.
Carico
then married Mrs. Rebecca A. Worthington, a native of Green County,
Ky.,
born Jan. 16, 1840. She has one son

Worthington. Mr.
and Mrs. Carico are members of the Catholic church.

John T. Carrico,
born in Casey County, Ky., June 5, 1840, is a son of Henry and Nancy
(Worthington
)
Carrico, natives of Maryland and Kentucky. His father was born in 1808
and came to Kentucky when five years old, and lived in Casey County
until
1860, when he moved to Daviess County, and settled on Yellow Creek,
near
Owensboro. He lived there four years and then bought a farm on the
Calhoon
and Owensboro road and lived there until 1875, when he sold out and
bought
the farm where he now resides, just south of Owensboro. His wife died
in
1874. Of a family of seven sons and two daughters, six sons and one
daughter
are now living. John T. was married July 19, 1864, to Alice, daughter
of
Amos Goodwin, deceased. After his marriage he moved to Owensboro and
worked
at the blacksmith's trade, which he learned on Yellow Creek, under
Colonel
Pool, now of Yelvington. At the expiration of a year Mr. Carrico moved
where his father was living and remained till 1874 when he came to
Utica,
where he is still working at his trade. He was reared in the Catholic
faith
but he and his wife are both members of the Baptist church. Seven
children
have been born to them, four now living --
Amos H.,
Joseph T., Charles I., Arthur B., Lulia, Alexander and Noah are
deceased.
