Monday 14 May 1838
On the motion of Mary Carrico widow of Daniel Carrico, died, ordered
that letters of administration be granted her on the estate of her said
deceased husband, she having taken the oath required by law and
together with Wm. Grimes & Otho Grimes her security entered into
and acknowledge bond in the penalty of $800 cons-- as the law directs.
On the motion of the administration of the estate of Daniel Carrico,
died, ordered that Alexander G. Ratcliffe & others to appraise the
personal estate of the said deceased.

Monday 13 Jan 1840
On the motion of Otho Grimes and William Grimes and setting forth that
they sworn as security for Mary Ann Carrico administrator of the estate
of Daniel Carrico, died, and that they conceived themselves in danger
of suffering there by it is ordered a summons issued against the said
administrator requiring her to appear at the next term of this court
and show cause if any she can why she shall be ruled to county security.

issued against Mary Ann Carrico administrator of the estate of Daniel

Susannah Carrico & William Carrico infant orphans of Daniel
Carrico, died, over 14 years of age came into court and chose John C.
Carrico as their guardian, whereupon the said John C. Carrico, together
with Otho Grimes, his security, entered into and acknowledged bond in
the penalty of $200 conditioned as the law directs.

Ordered that John C. Carrico be appointed guardian for Francis E.
Carrico, Ruben Carrico, James Carrico infant orphans of Daniel Carrico,
decd, under 14 years of age, where upon the said John Carrico together
with Otho Grimes and Preiz

Carrico his securities entered into and acknowledge bond in the penalty
of $300 conditioned as the law directs.

Carrico infant orphan of Daniel Carrico deceased over 14 years of age
came into court and chose Otho Grimes as his guardian, whereupon the
said Otho Grimes together with H. C. Pitt his security, entered into

To the Honorable, the County Court of St. Louis County in open session.
Humbly complaining therewith unto Your Honor this petitioner, Benjamin
Quick, that heretofore "to wit" on the Eighth day of Axx

Daniel Carrico, a tract of land situated lying and being in the County
of St. Louis and State of Missouri containing fifty five and a half
acres for which your petitioner was to pay the sum of five hundred and
eighty two dollars, four hundred and ten dollars of which your
petitioner was to pay in satisfaction of a deed of Trust upon the
land, and the ballance [sic] to said Carico. That said Carico and Mary
his wife Exceuter to your petitioner bearing date as aforesaid a
certain title bond obligating themselves to Execute a deed on or before
the last day of April 1838. After the Execution of said title bond
& before the time arrived for satisfying it by deed, the said
Carico departed this life, without executing the deed to your
petitioner as stipulated in said Title bond. The Title bond is herewith
made an exhibit and prayed to be taken & considered as a part of
this petition. Your Petitioner further States that he has paid up and
satisfied the full assignment of the purchase money

to said Carico in part and to his Administratrix since death.
That the xxx the County Court of Saint Louis County have since granted
letters of administration in the Estate of said Daniel Carico to Mary
Carico late his wife. And that since said appointment no
deed has been executed to your petitioner. Your petitioner therefore
begs your Honor to make an order directing and requiring said
administratrix to make and execute to your petitioner a deed for the
said tract of land set forth in said petition and title bond
subject to the trust deed upon it at the time of the purchase by your
petitioner conveying all right title and interest which said Carico had
to said land at the time of his death and as in duty bound he will ever
pray.

me duly sworn, upon her oath saith that to the best of her knowledge
there are the following heirs of Daniel Carrico deceased, now in being;

-James,
all of whom reside in the County of McCracken in the State of Kentucky
and are children of said deceased and
-Walter Carrico
also a child of said deceased who resides in the County of St. Louis in
the State of Missouri and that to the best of her knowledge that the
said deceased died without a will, as far as she knows and believes;
and that she will well and truly administer all and singular the goods
and chattels, lands and tenements, rights and credits, of the said
deceased, and pay his debts, as far as the assets which may come to her
hands will extend, and the law direct; and that she will make a true
and perfect inventory of all the goods and chattels, rights and
credits, of the said deceased, and account for and pay over, according
to law, all assets which shall come to her hands, possession or
knowledge.
