I, Benedict Carrico of Monroe Township in the County of Monroe and state of Missouri being of sound mind do make and publish this, my Last Will and Testament:

1st -  I Will and direct that my funeral expenses and all of my just debts be fully paid as soon after my death as practicable.

2nd  I give, devise and bequeath unto my oldest son Walter V. Carrico the following Real estate.  The north Thirty (30) acres off of the West half of the West half of the North East quarter of section No. Twenty two (22) in Township fifty six (56) of Range eight (8) West.  This land I devise to said Walter V. Carrico subject however to the payment of a promissory note I hold against him, which note is given for the payment of one hundred ($100) Dollars having 6% int. from date of note, dated 1st day of July 1889 given by said W. V. Carrico to me which note I charge against the said land.

3rd  To Edward D. Carrico my sec’d. son I devise & bequeath to him the following Real Estate subject to the payment of a promissory note I hold against him viz:  The West Thirty three (33) acres off of the South sixty (60) acres of the East (1/2) half of the north East quarter of Section no Twenty Eight (28) in Township No Fifty six (56) of Range eight (8) West.  This devise is subject to the payment of a note of Date April 7 1891 given by Ed. D. Carrico, to me for one Hundred and fifty seven and 14/100 Dollars due twelve months from date of note bearing 6% interest from date of note compound interest note which note I now hold and charge as against the said described lands.

4th  To Benedict F. Carrico, my third son, I give and devise to him the following described Real estate viz:  The North fifteen acres off the South East fourth of the South East quarter of Section No Twenty one (21) and the West nine (9) acres off of the South Eighteen (18) acres of the north East fourth of the South East quarter of said section Twenty one (21) also The North Thirteen (13) acres off of the said north East fourth of the South East quarter of said section Twenty one (21) all in Township No Fifty six (56) of Range Eight (8) West containing 36 acres subject however

and make a change on said lands one promissory note of Date April 9th 1891 executed by said Benedict F. Carrico for Two Hundred and thirteen & 06/100 Dollars due twelve months from the date of note with interest thereon at the rate of six (6) per cent per annum compound int. note which note I now hold and charge on lands devised to said Benedict F. Carrico.

5th.  To Thomas M. Carrico my fourth son, I give and devise the following Real estate to him, viz:  Twenty (20) acres off the North end of the East half (1/2) of the North East quarter of Section No Twenty Eight (28) and the South Twenty five (25) acres off of South East fourth of the South East quarter of Section No Twenty one (21) all in Township No Fifty six (56) of Range Eight (8) Wsst containing in this devise 45 acres.

6th  To Susan C. Calhoon (my oldest daughter) to her sole and separate use from her husband- I give & devise to her the following described Real estate viz:  six & 1/2 (6 1/2) acres more or less being all that part of the West half (1/2) of the North East quarter of Section No Twenty one lying South of the M. K. & T. Railroad right of way also fourteen (14) acres more or less being all that part of the East half _ of the North East quarter of said section No Twenty one (21) all in Township No Fifty Six (56) of Range Eight (8) West lying South of said M. K. & T. Rail Road Right of Way.  Also ten (10) acres off of the North end of the West half 1/2 of the South East quarter of said section No Twenty one (21) in Township No Fifty six (56) of Range Eight (8) West containing in this devise 30 50/100 more or less.

7th.  To Catherine F. J. Calhoon and her children:  I give and devise the following Real estate viz:  The South West fourth 1/4 of the South West quarter of Section No Twenty two (22) in Township No Fifty six (56) of Range Eight (8) West excepting ten (10) acres off of the South end thereof.

8th  To Hattie L. Vaughn and Elmer V. Vaughn the only surviving children of my dec’d dsughter Tracy A. Vaughn I give and devise to them the following described Real estate viz:  The South Thirty 30 acres off the North West fourth (1/4) of the South East quarter of Section No Twenty [sic] (21) in Township No Fifty six (56) of Range Eight (8) West.

I further will & direct that the rest Residue and Remainder of my estate Real personal or mixed of whatsoever kind be divided equally among my children to share and share alike.

I hereby appoint Benedict F. Carrico (my son) to act as executor of this my last Will and Testament.

In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand, this Tenth day of April A. D. 1891.

Signed and Declared by the above named Benedict Carrico as & for his Last Will and Testament, in the presence of us, who, at his request, have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

Be it Remembered That on this 6th day of March 1895, before me, the undersigned judge and ex-officio clerk of the Probate Court of the county of Monroe and State of Missouri, personally came W. W. Longmun who being first by me duly sworn, on his oath, says:  That he was present and saw the said Benedict Carrico now deceased subscribe his name to the annexed instrument, in writing, bearing date the 10th day of April 1891, and heard him declare the same to be his last Will and Testament; that he subscri[bed] his name thereto as a witness in the presence and at the request of the said testator and at the time of the execution of said instrument as aforesaid, and of his subscribing the same as such witness, he the said testator was of sound and disposing mind, to the best of his knowldedg and belief.

Subscribed and sworn to before me, this 6th day of March A.D. 1895
