In the name of God Amen I Walter Carrico of the County of Monroe and State of Missouri being weak of body but of sound mind and memory do make and declare this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made[?]
 
firs I bequeath my Soul to god and my body to the earth and as to such wordly estate as it please god to intrust me with & dispose of the same as follows

Secondly I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Helena Carrico in lieu of her dower the lots of land known as the W 1/2 of lot no 1 and twenty acres of the west and of Lot No 2 of the NE quarter or gradient of Section No 4 Township 55 Range 8 West – also the NE 1/4 of the SE gr and twenty acres of the East – end of Sec[?] No One NE gr of Section No 3 township 55 R8W also the SW 1/4 of the [something is crossed out here – could be NE] gr of Section No 24 Township 55R 9 W containing in all 160 Acres during her natural life also one horse Bess[?] and one cow which she may chuse of all my stock and her saddle and bed during her natural life as aforesaid and at the death of my said wife all the property hereby devised or bequeathed to her as aforesaid or so much thereof as may remain unxxxed to my two sons and thre daugters and one Grand Son to wit,-
-Ignatious Carrico
-Benedict Carrico
-Terrecy Murphy
-Elizabeth Miles and
-Nancy Ann St. Vrain and
-James Walter Carrico
And to their heirs and assignes forever.

And thirdly I give and devise to my youngest Son Joseph M. Carrico and my widdow daughter Rosannah Buel the tract of land whereon I now live contains in all 390 acres and known as the NW gr of section 15 and forty Acres of the west-side of the W 1/2 of the NE gr of the same section also thirty acres of the SW 1/4 of the NE Gr of Section No ten also the west 1/2 of the NW gr of Section No 27 also the E 1/2 of the SW gr of Section No 27 township 55 Range 8 west which is to be divided between them as follows to wit by runing a north and South line so as to have xxx hundred and fifteen acres on each Side Joseph to have the East and Rosanna the west side of said land Rosanna to have the W 1/2 of the North[?] gr of Section

I also give to my son Josep M. Carrico the gray horse Saddle and bridle which he now claims my xxx and xxx xxx one Cow and Calf and one bed and furniture also my newest trunk to him and his heirs forever and to my daughter Rosanna I desire that she have ten acres of said Land out of the field which is in cultivation at this time for the term of five years to raise grain on until She can some of her own into cultivation then the said ten acres is Joseph’s again  

It is also my will that the land which I hereby will to my daughter Rosannah remain hers during her natural life and at her death to decend to her bodily heirs what She now has

also It is my will that my crop of grain which is now on hand be divided as usial and that Rosannah have the priveledge of moving her house on her own land if She choses to do So and also the previledge of getting firewood off of the lot of land in Section ten as long as there is any wood thereon 

It is also my wish that new crop of tobacco which is now on hand be sold to the best advantage that it can be and the money equally divided between Joseph and Rosanna share and share alike

All the rest and residue of my estate both real and personal of whatsoever and wheresoever of what nature kind and quality so over the same may be and not herein before given and disposed off after the payment of my debts and legacies and funeral expenses.

I do give and bequeath to my five chidren and grand child namely
-Ignatious Carrico
-Benedict Carrico
-James Walter Carrico
-Terrecy Murphey
-Elizabeth Miles and
-Nancy Ann St. Vrain
to be sold to the best advantage it can be and the money equally divided between them and their heirs forever.

And lastly I do hereby constitute and apoint my two sons Ignatious and Benedict Carrico my executors of this my last will and testament  In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this 25th day of November 1840
