BOWLES, Harold William - 70, Bridgewater, died Wednesday, November 23, 2005,
in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Marystown, NL, he was
a son of the late Oliver and Beatrice (Hussey) Bowles. In his earlier years,
Harold drove taxi and school bus, and later went trucking for many years
with Murley Transport in Marystown, NL. He then went to work in the fishing
industry and was employed scalloping with Scotia Trawlers until he retired
due to ill health. He is survived by his wife, Doris Mae; daughters, Marlene
"Pam" (Roddy) Bowles, Gold River; Leann (Robert) Dolimount, Martin's Point;
sons, Harold (Julie), Canso; Calvin (Margaret) and Chester (Evelyn), both of
Bridgewater; stepsons, Kim (Elizabeth) Kelly and Kurt, both of Ontario; Wade
(Shannon), LaHave; sisters, Iona Bowles, St. John's, NL; Helen Rogers, Maude
Pyke, Marie Corcoran and Lorraine Saunders, all of Marystown, NL; eight
grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and three
step great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his stepmother, Frances
Bowles, and brothers, Maxwell and Urville, and sister, Ruby. Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213
Hwy 3, Lunenburg with visitation today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and from where
the funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., Rev. Ken Wild
officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg. Family
flowers only, memorial donations may be made to the family, Canadian
Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Lung
Association of Nova Scotia. The family would like to thank all doctors and
nurses of the medical floor at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater,
