MORE PALATINE FAMILIES - Hank Jones, p. 321: Jean (John or Hans) Jacob Boshaar, tonelier, pays 3 livres, was on a 1696 French Tax Roll of Zweibrucken (Liste der Einwohner und Diener des Amis Zweibrucken fur die Erhebung der Kopfsterer 1696, by Walter Bohrer, p. 3r) In the mss. Landschreibereirechnun 1707 (LA Speyer, B 3, 447) the wife of Jacob Boshaar was noted in a civil case that year, fined 4 times for using abusive words against other women. In the 1709 Landschreibereirechnun (LA Speyer, B 3, 449) it was noted that "the cooper Boshaar of this place (Zweibrucken) who has moved to America has to pay (the 10% tax on exported goods) according to ths specification approved by the Court (2fl-10bz-8d). The Registers at 6797 Waldmohr (7 km. n. of Homburg; Ch books begin 1689, Ref.) mention that Hans Jacob Boshaar, citizen and cooper in Zweibrucken, sp. Hans Niclas Boshaar there in 1696 and Abraham Sontag there in 1704.

Jacob Boesshaar, a cooper from Zweibrucken was an emigrant from the Duchy of Zweibrucken in 1709 (EMIGRANTS FROM THE PALATINATE TO THE AMERICAN COLONIES IN THE 18TH CENTURY, p. 31). Hans Jacob Peeshoor(sic), his wife and 6 ch were in the 6th party sailing on the ship of Capt. Johan Facit 3 July 1709 (Rotterdam Lists). Jacob Boshaar made his 1st appearance on the Hunter Lists 4 July 1710 with 6 persons over 10 yrs and 2 persons under 10 in the family; the 4 Oct 1710 called him Johann Jacob Boshar. There is a mss. relating to him at the Albany State Library (N.Y. Colonial Mss, V. 58 p. 63a-d). Johan Jacob Beshare was nat. 31 Jan 1715/16 (Albany Nats.) Jacob Boshair was taxed 5 lbs. at Hurley in 1718/19 (Ulster Tax Lists). He was d. bef 6 Dec 1719 when his widow m. Wilhelm Bolk (Kingston Ref. Ch).

Hank Jones: Hans Jacob Boshaar (age 62, citizen and cooper of Zweibrucken) and his wife, Christina Maurer, (daughter of Samuel Maurer, citizen and linenweaver of Hornbach) emigrated in 1709 with sons aged 27 and 15 (Johann Georg)., both of whom married in New York. Johann Jacob BASHORE and Anna Gertrude MEYER were married on 20 Jan 1680 in Zwiebrucken, Germany.
