Quote from family member: Grandma Frieda Schild said that they lived in Oldenburg in a house with a barn attached. Her job was to clean and scrub the barn and it was kept as clean as the house. She worked as a maid when she first came to America and met Grandpa Johann Boettcher at a barn dance.

Johann Boettcher was a charter member of the Evangelische Lutheriscke, Zion Congregation of Washington, Ks.

Lloyd Herman Wilhelm Boettcher was born September 12, 1904 in Diller, Nebraska and died August 8, 1933 in Wymore, Nebraska. Obituary for Lloyd: Lloyd H. Boettcher was born September 12 1904 at Diller Nebraska. He was instantly killed when the car he was driving collided with a truck near Gretna, Nebr., the morning of Aubust 8, 1933. He was 28 years, 10 months and 26 days of age at the time of is death. He was a graduate of the Wymore high school, Class of 1923. He united with the First Methodist church in this city at the age of 16 years. He was a member of the Ak-Sar-Ben Club and Chamber of Commerce at Omaha, Nebr. For a time he was employed at Wymore, and later employed as a salesman at Des Moines, Iowa. For the past five years he has resided at Omaha and at the time of his death held a position as manager of the Inter-Change Department of the Omaha Assn of Credit men. He leaves to mourn his loss, his parents, Mr and Mrs J.C. Boettcher of this city, one sister, and five brothers. They are, John F, of Beatrice, Mrs. M.E. Lund of Hitchcock, S.D., Wm. H. of Lindsborg, Kans, A.O. of Lincoln, and Walter and James of this city, besides a number of other relatives and a host of friends. Lloyd was a young man with a pleasing personality, always cheerful and bore his trials bravely. He was loved by all who knew him and his untimely death was a shock to all. He will ever be remembered as a kind and loving son and brother. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Thursday afternoon, Aug 10 at 3 o'lock at the Methodist church conducted by R.A. Trowbridge. Interment was in the Wymore cemetery.

Walter Lee Boettcher born August 29, 1908 in Diller, Nebraska and died November 6, 1979 in Wymore, Nebraska.

James Louis Schild Boettcher was born June 14, 1910 in Diller, Nebraska and died July 13, 2000 in Crystal river, Florida.


Obituary: J.C. Boettcher Died Monday J.C. Boettcher, 81, passed away Monday at his home just west of Wymore, following an extended illness. He has made his home here for the past twenty four years. Mr. Boettcher was born at Hanover, Germany, coming to the United States with his parents at the age of one year. They settled at Reedsburg, Wis. where they lived for six years, after which they took up a homestead at Hanover, Kans. where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Miss Frieda Schild of Hanover in March, 1890. They moved to a farm near Diller, Nebr. where they resided until moving to their present home in 1919. On March 26 1940, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Eight children blessed this union, six sons and two daughters. Dena Joanne and Lloyd H. preceded their father in death. Surviving are his wife and the following children: John F., Walter L. and James S. of Wymore; Mrs Anna Lund and Arnold O of Lincoln; and William H. of Lindsburg, Kans. Also two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters. He was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran faith which he retained until his passing. He spent his entire life in the pursuit of agriculture in which occupation he was active until his health began to fail two years ago. He spent a well rounded life in the service of his community and was always ready to help others in need. He was active in the organization and building of the Evangelical Lutheran Zion church near his home at Diller. In the year 1910 he also served as a member of the school board for twenty years. Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2:30 pm from the West Funeral Home, Rev. J.C. Lowson officiating. Interment will be in the Wymore cemetery.

Obituary: Boettcher Rites Held Tuesday Funeral Services were held Tuesday from the Methodist church for Mrs. Frieda Henrietta Boettcher, 87, who died Saturday at a Beatrice hospital. Mrs. Boettcher was born in Oldenburg, Germany. She had been a resident of the Wymore comunity for 40 years and was a member of the Wymore Methodist church and the Order of Eastern Star. Four sons, John, James and Walter, Wymore and Arnold, Lincoln and a sister, Mrs. Clara Fehn, Danville, Kentucky, are survivors. Burial was in the Wymore cemetery. Rev. E. Allen Magill officiated. Laughlin Funeral home was in charge.
