On October 17, 1831 he married Louisa McKay in Vermillion County, Illinois. She was born July 8, 1812 and died December 21, 1875. Charles married again to Elizabeth Nickerson on April 7, 1876 in Illinois but they divorced. He married Nancy J. Palchioum(? spelling?) on May 14, 1877 in Washington County, Kansas.

Deed: Archie & Rosalie McGowen to Charles Fielder; Vol 11, page 207; Filed March 12, 1877--- The grantor Archie McGowen and Rosalie McGowen his wife of the County of ? and State of Illinois for and in consideration of six hundred dollars in hand paid , convey and warrant to Charles Fielder of the County of Knox and State of Illinois the following described Real Estate: The south east quarter of Section twenty seven (27) in Township one (1) south of Range four (4) East in the Distric of lands subject to sale at Concordia Junction City Kansas on the 20th day of April 1866 containing one hundred and sixty acres situated in the county of Washington in the State of Kansas hereby releasing and waiving all rights under and by virtue of the Homestead Exemption Laws of this state. Dated this fourteenth day of February A.D. 1877. Archie McGowen, Rosalie McGowen. State of Illinois, Knox County: I, Anson Baldwin a Natary Public inaforesaid county in the State aforesaid do hereby certify that Archie McGowen and Rosalie McGowen his wife personally known to me to be these same persons what name are subscribed to the foregoing instrument appeared before me this day in person and acknowledged that they signed sealed and delivered the said instrument as their free and voluntary act for thie uses and purposes therein set forth including the release of the right of Homestead. Singleton; Filed August 11, A.D. 1877 - Vol. 12, page 178--- The Grantor Charles Fielder of the County of Knox and State of Illinois for and in consideration of Two hundred dollars in hand paid, convey and warrant to J.D. Singleton of the County of Fulton and State of Illinois the following described Real Estate. The south west quarter of the south east quarter of Section Twenty seven (27) in Township one (1) South of Range Four (4) east in the district of lands subject to sale at Junction City Kansas on the 20th day of April 1866 containing Forty acres. Situated in the County of Washington in the State of Kansas hereby releasing and waiving all rights under and by virtue of the Homestead Exemption laws of this state. Dated this 22nd day of February AD 1877. Charles Fielder. Singleton; Book 13, page 105; September 3, 1877-- This deed, made this third day of September in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and seventy seven between Charles Fielder and Nancy J. Fielder of County of Washington, and State of Kansas. of the first part and William T Singleton of Washington County and State of Kansas of the second part: Witnesseth, that the said part of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do these presents Grant, Bargain, Sell, Remise, Release, Alien, Convey and Confirm unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever, all of the following described tract piece, and parcel of land, lying and situate in the County of Washington and State of Kansas to-wit: The north West quarter of the South East quarter of SEction Twenty seven (27) in Township One (1) South of Range Four (4) East in the District of Lands subject to sale at Junction City Kansas on the 20th day of April 1866 containing Forty acres more or less.
