I have been researching my genealogy for a little over a year now. How have I accomplished so much? Easy, I got most of my info from people who have already done the work for me. I have actually not done much true research as of yet. But that is changing and this one woman who I know so little but share a name with is going to be the straw that breaks my camel back. :o)
The Mystery of Virginia Turner Braddock Drew
I have posted this in the hopes that someone, somewhere can shed additional light on this mystery. If you know anything about this family please email me at [email protected]. Yes, you may read through this and say "Duh!" of course they are the same person. But I want to gather as much evidence as possible, so there is no doubt.
What I know:

Source: Family Bible in possession on Alice Jeanette (Drew) Burrell. I consider this a very reliable source.
Added to this is my mom's research. She does not have any source info but she does name George Franklin Drew's parents as James Drew and Virginia Turner.
Now for the mystery. I was able to come across other researchers that have information on this line, but they all have Virginia's maiden name as Braddock.

Both the Braddock and Higginbotham lines go back for many generations. I asked everyone I could what they knew about the Turner in her name and was rewarded. There was a Virginia Turner who married Andrew Jackson Braddock.

Andrew Jackson Braddock and Virginia Turner had three children, all boys.

There is good evidence that states that Abraham E. and Martha Elizabeth (Braddock) Ogilvie adopted the two oldest boys after their father's death. Martha Elizabeth Braddock was Andrew Jackson Braddock's sister. It is also believed that Wesley J. Braddock went with his mother. Wesley's fate is the one that acts as a wrench in the works. I have not found anyone currently living who knows anything about him. If he grew up with his mother and step-father and did not pass away until 1965, then any of my great aunts and uncles would have known him. As far as they know James Horace Drew is the oldest son of both Bennett J. Drew and Virginia Turner Braddock Drew.
It is also interesting to note that a couple of researchers state that Virginia Turner married a Mr. Drew after Andrew Jackson Braddock's death.
My theory, which is pretty obvious, is that Virginia Turner and Virginia Braddock are the same person. Given the following timeline:
24 December 1858: Virginia Braddock and Virginia Turner Braddock Drew born.
1859: Virginia Turner born.
3 December 1874: Virginia Turner marries Andrew Jackson "Jack" Braddock.
13 March 1876: John "Reddon" Braddock born to Andrew Jackson and Virginia Turner Braddock.
23 May 1878: Adolphus L. Braddock born to Andrew Jackson and Virginia Turner Braddock.
27 August 1878: Wesley J. Braddock born to Andrew Jackson and Virginia Turner Braddock.
12 March 1882: Andrew Jackson "Jack" Braddock dies.
23 November 1882: Virginia Braddock marries Bennett J. Drew.
16 November 1883: James Horace Drew born to Bennett J. Drew and Virginia Braddock.
15 July 1888: George Franklin Drew born to Bennett J. Drew and Virginia Braddock.
7 July 1893: Pearl Virgina Drew born to Bennett J. Drew and Virginia Braddock.
14 May 1897: Hesta Safronia "Fronie" Drew born to Bennett J. Drew and Virginia Braddock.
17 March 1899: Francis M. Drew born to Bennett J. Drew and Virginia Braddock.
26 August 1907: Virginia Braddock and Virginia Turner Braddock Drew dies.
Unknown: Virginia Turner dies.
Questions:
1. What happened to Wesley J. Braddock?
2. What is the proof behind Virgina Braddock being a child of Alexander Jackson Braddock and Isabella Higginbotham?
This page would be incomplete without mentioning Andrew Drew or Andrew Braddock. Most people have connected him as a child of Bennett J. Drew and Virginia Braddock. And at least one connected him to Andrew Jackson Braddock and Virginia Turner. Only one researcher gives him a birth and death date.

With these dates his parents could not be:
1. Andrew Jackson "Jack" Braddock (died: 12 March 1882)
2. Virginia Braddock or Virginia Turner Braddock Drew (died: 26 August 1907)
One possibility is that he is a child of Bennett J. Drew and his second wife Susie Ola Gaitlin. They had one child Arthur Drew. I know nothing about him. My great aunt and my grandmother both remember him.
