Andries Boen

 

A Swede who arrived on the western side of the Delaware Bay and settled in Upland.  He was part of the primitive settlers, who began this now and affluent and prosperous country, at a period anterior to the arrival of William Penn and his colonists who arrived in 1670.  In 1681Penn acquired a royal patent to the land between New Jersey and Maryland, from Charles II of England, which he called Pennsylvania.
