Inwood, Mellville James/John, 788507, Private (1893-)

Mellville John Inwood was born on 27 April 1893 at Raglan, Renfrew, Ontario, son of William Inwood.  He enlisted in the 130th Overseas Battalion (via the 42nd Regiment) at Renfrew, Ontario on 15 January 1916, at which time he was unmarried and working as a labourer.  He listed his father, then of Ireland, Ontario, as next-of-kin.

Private M.J. Inwood was detached to the 6th Battalion, C.E. Unit Group No. 10 "G" Ottawa on 25 March 1919, for the purpose of demobilisation.


Ireland, John Austin, 447896, Private (1895-)

John Austin Ireland was born on 11 June 1895 at Owen Sound, Ontario, son of Walter Ireland.  He enlisted at Calgary, Alberta on 15 November 1915, at which time he was single and working as a moving picture operator.  He listed his father, then of 315 Belfast Street, Medicine Hat, Alberta, as next-of-kin.

Private J.A. Ireland was wounded on 11 October 1918.


Irvine, Jerry John, 746021, Private (1888-1918)

Jerry (Gerald) John Irvine was born on 21 August 1888 at Fermanagh, Ireland.  He enlisted in the 116th Overseas Battalion at Oshawa on 23 November 1915, at which time he was unmarried and working as a blacksmith.  He listed Mrs. Jane Irvine of Lisroon Roslia, Clones, Monaghan, Ireland, as his next-of-kin.

Private J.J. Irvine died on 10 October 1918, of wounds received, and was buried at Bucquoy Road Cemetery, Ficheux, Pas de Calais (Grave Ref. IV.F.6).


Irwin, Roy Addison, 910183, Private (1897-)

Roy Addison Irwin was born on 2 November 1897 at Rossburn, Manitoba, son of John H. Irwin.  He enlisted in the 196th Overseas Battalion at St. Vital, Manitoba on 20 April 1916, at which time he was single and working as a farmer at Rossburn, Manitoba.  He listed his father, also of Rossburn, as next-of-kin.

Private R.A. Irwin was wounded on 26 August 1918, during the Battle of Arras.


Irwin, Robert Ross, 734191, Private (1897-1918)

Robert Ross Irwin was born on 29 August 1897 at Lynn, Massachusetts, USA, son of Samuel & Adelaide Irwin.  He enlisted at Shelburne, Nova Scotia on 18 February 1916, at which time he was single, working as a lumberman, and living at Middle Ohio, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia.  He listed his mother, also of Middle Ohio, as next-of-kin.

Private R.R. Irwin was killed on 27 September 1918, during a retaliatory enemy artillery barrage, and was buried at Sains-les-Marquion British Cemetery, Pas de Calais (Grave Ref. II.D.15).
