Cabinet card with beveled & gilded edge, mount 108 x 165 mm, photo 99 x 144 mm, photographed by E.W. Merrill, of Danvers, Massachusetts

Unidentified mother and child, the former probably in her mid- to late 20s, and the latter aged 3-4, three-quarter length vignetted outdoor portrait in front of door to house.  The woman is clearly the same person as the "Mrs M(errill)" identified in photo #05 above.  Since the photographer's name was also Merrill, it is tempting to assume that either husband or wife was the photographer, but this is unlikely.  The brass (?) name plate on the door appears to have "O.N. Vernald" written in ornate script.  Undated, but possibly taken in the early to mid-1890s
