 Some CDVs from Bill Horne

Notes from BH: These are copies off photos found in a old album by my cousin after she had moved into her parents house.  My Marsden ancestors emigrated to Wisconsin in 1844 with 10 of their 12 children the 2 who stayed in England married 2 Vickers brothers, both families living at Whittington near Chesterfield. Later one of the daughters also joined her parents in the States leaving just one family in England. I have had contact with the families in the States who told me there were many exchanged visits between the families, which was news to me as I had no knowledge of any American relations until I started my family history.  Going on the messages written on the back of some of the photos, some were sent from there to my great-grandfather who died in 1876.  So it could be that some of the American family are on the English photos and vice versa.

(BH) This one is of my grandmother taken around 1890.  Priscilla Vickers born 1873 at Whittington.  She married Joseph Bradley in 1892 at Chesterfield and died 1907 at Eckington.
(BP) Possibly taken in the 1880s, at a similar time to #BH03, below.

(BP)  My initial estimate is that #BH02 is from the late 1870s, #BH03 from the early to mid-1880s, and the remaining two are from the early 1890s.  If I could see images of the reverse of these photos, it would help enormously with the dating.  Is there any possibility that you might ask your cousin to scan the photos in more detail, including the reverse?

Notes
(BP) Paul Turner operated a studio in Chesterfield for at least thirty years between 1861 and 1891.  However, I would estimate these two photos to be from the early part of that period, say between 1861 and 1864.

(BP) I have placed these images in what I estimate to be the approximate order in which they were taken.  Unfortunately, I find it a bit harder to date photos by mens' clothing than womens' fashions, but I would venture a guess that the earliest photo was taken in the early 1860s, and the latest in the sequence in perhaps the early 1880s.  Any designs or names on the reverse, or notes, may help enormously in dating them more accurately.  Again, more detailed scans would make it easier too!
