George
Samuel Ledsham was born at Chester in 1882, son of a market
gardener Samuel Ledsham and Sarah Ann Glover. In his late teens,
he worked with his father as a nurseryman. He married at Chester
in 1905. G.S. Ledsham is listed as a photographer with a studio at "Station approach," Buxton in a 1926-27 trades directory, and the two examples of postcards included below are probably from the 1920s. It is not clear how long he operated in Buxton, but he died there in 1930, at the age of 47. |
