Harold Ernest Pearse was born in
1890 at Basingstoke in Hampshire. He was the youngest son of
Frederick Pearse (b. 1845) and Eliza Archdeacon. His father was a
photographer who operated a studio on the High Street of Andover, also
in Hampshire, from c. 1870 until at least 1901. In early 1911
Harold married in Derby, and appears to have set up a studio there
shortly afterwards, as Kelly's trade directory for the following year
shows him with premises at 67a London Road, Derby. It is not
known how long the studio remained open for business. |
