Adamson (1997) shows M. Reissert
operating a studio at 284-286 Normanton Road, Derby in 1903. A
cabinet photo (see below) indicates that this firm also work in
premises at 208 St. Thomas Road, Derby, perhaps in the mid-1900s.
In 1901, there were two photographers, Marks and Mathalill "Reisserits", presumably brothers, living at Balsall Heath, Birmingham. One or
both of them must have moved to Derby before 1903, but no other
sightings have been found. According to Adamson (1997), James Lilley was at 284 Normanton Street from 1903-1904, which suggests that the Reisserts tenure of those premises was brief. James Cartledge was the occupant of 284 Normanton Road in 1910. |
