[WILL]
In The Name of God Amen.
I Joseph Benfield of Measham in the County of Derby Laborough being old and Infirmed but of sound minde memory and Understanding Blessed be God for the same I Do hereby make Constitute ordain and Declare this my Last Will and Testament in Mannor and form following.
To wit. I will that all my Just Debts Legices and funeral Expenses be truly paid and sattisfied by my Executor hereafter Names.
I Give and bequeath to my Nephew John Benfield the sum of ten pounds.
Also I Give and bequeath to my Niece Sarah Sister to the said Jno. Benfield the sum of ten pounds.
I Give and bequeath to my Nephew Thos. Twoby the sum of ten pounds.
I Give and bequeath to my Niece Jane Twoby the sum of ten pounds and one fether bed Boulsters and two pillows two Blankets and Coverlid with the Bedsteds and Hangings altogeather.
I Give and bequeath to my Niece Elizabeth Twoby the sum of ten pounds.
I Give and bequeath to my Brother Henry Benfield and his wife the sum of ten pounds and if my said brother and sister should Depart this Life Before the said ten pounds becomes Due then I Give and bequeath the said ten pounds to be Equally Divided amongst my Nephews and Nieces above mentioned.
I Give and bequeath to my two Kinswomen Mary and Elizabeth Robord of Linton the sum of five pounds and if my Kinswomen Mary & Eliz. Robord should Depart this Life before the said five pounds becomes Due then I give the said five pounds to be Equally Divided amongst my Nephews and Nieces above mentioned.
I Give and bequeath to my Fellow Servant Mary Brooks the sum of five pounds.
I Give and bequeath to my Kinswoman Mary Homoz the sum of ten five pounds.
I Give and bequeath to the poor of Measham the sum of one pound ten shilling to be Distributed at the Discreshon on my Executor.
I Give and bequeath to the poor of Packington the sum of one pound ten shillings to be Distributed at the Discreshon on my Executors.
and if I Dye possessed of more money than is hereby specified it is my minde and desire that it may be Divided amongst my Nephews and Nieces above mentioned at the Discreshon of my Executor.
I Give and bequeath all my wearing Apperrils to be Divided amongst my Brother Henry Benfield and Jno. Benfield and Thos. Twoby Junior to be Disposed as my Executors think proper.
And Lastly I Do hereby Nominate Constitute appoint ordain and Declare Thos. Carter sole Executor to this my Last Will and Testament Bearing Date this twenty seventh Day of Novembr and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty six.
