Family Notes by Bryan Small
Samuel Hunt Rowley was one of the executors of the John Albrighton will above. He is listed as a grocer in that will, and would have been about 28 years old. Samuel Hunt Rowley was also listed in the 1861 Swadlincote census as a farmer with 11 acres. Samuel eventually became a successful earthenware manufacturer, and his company continued operation long after his death.

John Albrighton was a witness at the marriage of Samuel Hunt Rowleys parents, John Fletcher Rowley and Ann Mellor at St. Mary & St. George church in 1836 in Church Gresley.  Ann Mellor was the sister of my ggg grandmother Margaret Mellor, who married Samuel Small in Church Gresley and moved to Canada in 1842.  I am seeking any information on the children of Samuel Hunt Rowley mentioned in the will. Wilfred Basil Rowley, Charlotte Olive Rowley and Margaret Phyllis Rowley.  Please email Bryan Small.
