Picture this.... Scott, Alisa, & .... NO KIDS! We received this trip as a Christmas present from Donna and we throughly enjoyed it!
We left Hohenfels Thursday evening and rode a bus to Paris. We got there early Wednesday morning, and after a nice breakfast, we started a tour of the city's sights! Too bad the weather wasn't fully cooperating.... It was misting and cloudy all day. Being December, it was also a bit cold. But luckily it wasn't unbearable!

The first (and most awful!) traffic circle in the world... glad I'm not driving!
A city tour of Paris wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Eiffel Tower!

How the old elevators used to get up to the viewing towers. Now that's hard work!

And across the street... the ONLY protestant church in Paris
After finishing our tour, checking into our hotel and relaxing for a few minutes, it was back out we went! We had a fabulous dinner near the Pantheon, went on a night-time boat ride down the Seine river, and then continued to tour the city with it all lit up. With Christmas lights still up, it was even more beautiful! Lucky for us, the weather cooperated and the clouds and rain went away!
The Eiffel Tower by night ... absolutely beautiful!

Now this may not look like much... but at $3000+ a night, I'd sure like to stay here... The Ritz!

After a much to short night of sleep, we were up and going again! After a nice European breakfast at the hotel, we were off to the Palace of Versailles, where Kings Louie the 14th, 15th, and 16th all maintained residence until 1789.

After a wonderful morning wandering through this beautiful Palace, we were off to the Louve Museum, the largest in the world. On the way, we passed the smaller copy of the Statue of Liberty that the French gave to the US. Amazing sight with the Eiffel tower "watching" over it in the background. The building complex is absolutely beautiful... like being in another Palace in some parts!

Scott was sure this statue was thinking of him when she posed!

And a trip to the Louve would be incomplete without seeing the Mona Lisa
After visiting the Louve, we decided to head over to the Musee d'Orsay to see some of the more modern works by artists such as Renoir, Monet, Van Gogh, etc. This was just as beautiful as the Louve.

We had about an hour left before meeting the bus, so we spent that time wandering through some of the romantic side streets of Paris and along the Seine River.

It was time to say farewell to Paris and head back Germany. We had one more dinner on the way home, and then got some sleep on the bus before we got home around 2am the next mornng.
