Jesse Blanton VS James Brock 1838

 

James Brock and Jacob Howard, who are in custody,  charged with trespassing, assault and battery against Jesse Blanton.  James Brock and Jacob Howard with "force and arms" "to wit, fists" "clubs, sticks, knives, stones and brickbats" assaulted Jesse Blanton "breaking his jaw bone" for which he needed medical attention for and was confined to his bed for three months.  Blanton is asking for $1000.00 in damages.

William Blanton VS James Brock Jr 1839

William Blanton accuses James Brock Jr, who is said to be currently in custody, of speaking "malicious slanderous and defamatory words" to William Blanton's son, against William Blanton concerning another case in which the two were plaintiff and defendants in.  James Brock is stated as accusing William Blanton of committing perjury concerning that case in the presents of others.  He is seeking "$10.000 " in damages.

Susannah Blanton VS William Blanton Apr 6, 1855

Petition in Equity

Susannah Blanton, plaintiff states in her petition filed 6 Apr 1855: she is the wife of defendant William Blanton Sr. and the mother of Joseph Blanton and William Blanton Jr., defendants.  Susannah states that a written agreement was made between William Blanton Sr. and William Blanton Jr. and Joseph Blanton, in which William Jr. and Joseph Blanton were to support William Sr. and Susannah through out their natural life.  In tern William Sr. conveyed his land in Harlan Co., KY upon the waters of Wallins Creek of the Cumberland River and other property to William Jr. and Joseph Blanton.  Susannah further states that William Sr. has abandoned her and refuses to support her.  William Jr. and Joseph Blanton have refused to support her also leaving her dependant on her other children and neighbors.  In the proceeding petition on the 25th of April 1856, Susannah states that since the last term of the court William Blanton Sr. has departed this life.  In 1860, a judgment in the case was filed and an agreement was made in which Susannah was given $150.00 plus all of her costs in the suit.

Jeremiah Brock  VS Margaret Brock

It is adjudged by the court that plaintiff Jerry Brock is hereby divorced from Margaret Brock and that he has all rights and privileges of a unmarried man. The Defendant is also granted a divorce for the plaintiff however only after a year does she has all rights an privileges of an unmarried woman.

Polly Brock VS Z B Brock 1878

Petition in Equity, filed 13 Oct 1877, Polly Brock states, Z B Brock has abandoned her and they have been living apart for more than twelve months.  Also, that Z  B Brock has been living in adultery with another woman.  In his defense, Z B Brock states that he has not abandoned her nor has he been living in adultery, but he admits that he can not live with Polly Brock as his wife any longer.

Z B Brock states that on the 3rd of January 1883, James Brock in a note given to Z B Brock for a tract of land, promised that within thirteen months he would pay Z B Brock $20.00 and twelve months after that $20.00 more and so on until $80.00 was paid.  Z B Brock is requesting judgment for the note and the cost of the suit.
