Jean Arey's father, Richard Arey, was born in Edgartown and his father, her grandfather,  lived next door to John Pease. (1) So, Jean Arey, who was born about 1679, probably grew up as a close neighbor of Benjamin Pease, who was probably a grandson of John Pease.  She married Benjamin Pease on 17 Jun 1697 in Edgartown. (2) She was about 18 years old and her husband about 21. They had 12 children in a period of about 26 years.  Her last known child was born when she was about 44 years old.  She died two or three years later.
