When Thomas Coor, Sr wrote his will he left money to five women. | Item/ I give to my Beloved Daughter Mary Ballard and Ezekiel Ballard one
shilling sterling. Item/ I give to my Beloved Daughter Averilly Coor one Feather Bed and Furniture. I give to my Friend Tabitha Pender one Feather Bed and Furniture. I give to my Beloved Friend Grace Pender one Feather Bed and Furniture. I give to my Friend Elizabeth Pender one Feather Bed and Furniture. |
Clearly Mary Ballard and Averilly Coor are his daughters. Grace and Elizabeth Pender are most likely his sisters. Both Grace and Elizabeth were named, along with Thomas Coor, in their father's will. See Thomas Coor, Sr. It appears that Grace and Elizabeth were both left widows at an early age and their children were raised by their brother, Thomas Coor (born about 1723) Grace Coor Pender's son, John Coor Pender, was raised by this uncle and referred, in his own will, to Thomas Coor as "daddy." Tabitha Coor Pender MAY be a daughter of either Grace or Elizabeth Coor.
