There are two baptisms for a Joseph Crofoote in Cheshire England in the 1630's  The one most researchers have assumed is the baptism of the immigrant is for a Joseph Crofoote baptized on Feb 26, 1632 in Tarvin, Cheshire, England. The record says the residence is Duddon.  The other baptism is for a Joseph Crofoote christened on Oct 4, 1635 in Thornton-le-Moors, Cheshire, England.  This record gives the residence as Elton.  Both records say the father is William Crofoote.  Most researchers are claiming this William Crofoote died May 6, 1654 in Duddon.  However, there is another burial for a William Crowfoote in Tarvin, Cheshire, England on Aug 19, 1667.

So, most likely Joseph Crowfoote is the son of a William Crofoote of Cheshire, England

Most researchers claims this William Crofoote was baptized in Feb 1589/90.  He married Margaret Johnson of Bebington on Feb 28, 1616 an had the following children.
