Although there is no direct proof that Richard S. Deering is the son of Simeon B. Deering, it seems highly likely.  He was transacting land agreements in the counties where the rest of the family had settled.  He is a blacksmith like most of his brothers.  And more importantly, he is the very next listing to John W. Deering in 1860 in Livingston co., MO
