In 1811 when John Gilmore was baptized to parents, George Gilmore and Margaret Cuddie, James Roy was one of the witnesses

In the 1841 census "Hellen Roy" is listed without her husband.  Her address is Pittencrieff Street North Side.  Her daughter Helen had just died so her granddaughter, Marion Hempsead, is living with her, along with her children, John Roy, Marion Roy, Ebenezer Roy and David Roy.

In 1851 at the age of 70 Helen Roy is listed at Pittencrieff St.  Roys Land as Damask Weaver.  Living with her are her children, Marion Roy and Ebenezer Roy, plus two grandchildren, James Roy, 6, and John Roy, 4.

In 1861 the household is Helen Roy, 80, and her children, Marion Roy, 42, Ebenezer Roy, 40 and two grandchildren, Jas Roy, 16 and Jno Roy, 14.

Then in 1863 both Marion Roy and Ebenezer Roy married.  Helen Roy died in 1870.

1806    "James Roy Weaver in Pittencrief and Helen Gilmore his wife had a Daughter born 15th of April baptized 20th named Helen, Witnesses William Swan and Robert Murgan present there."

1807 "James Roy Weaver in Pittencrief and Helen Gilmour his Wife had a son born 11th Dec baptized 20th named James, Witnesses Robert Murgan and William Cummings."


1811 "James Roy Weaver in Pittencrieff and Helen Gilmour his Wife had a son born 4th of Sept baptized 22nd named John; Witnesses Robert Murgan and Alexander Proy there."
