Soon after the death of her father, Elisabeth and three of her siblings and her mother emigrated to the United States.   About 1838.  She was already married to Karl Veiock and had  a son, Jakob, who had been born in 1834.  They seem to have settled in the Pittsburgh area as did her sisters Margaretha Helfer Zimmerly and Barbara Helfer Dutt. (1) In the 1840 census they are living in Richland, Cambria, PA with three small children under 10.   By 1848 both the sisters,  Elizabeth and Margaret, and families were in Harrison County, IN. Barbara was across the river in Louisville.   Elizabeth died shortly after their arrival in Indiana leaving several small children.  Her husband remarried shortly thereafter to Mary Ann Sickle and had at least another five children.   Karl (Charles) Fiock seems to have stayed on in Harrison County, since he died there in 1864.  However, by 1855, her sister Margaretha (Margaret) Helfer Zimmerly had moved on to Olney, IL.  At some point, the two surviving sons of Elizabeth Helfer Fiock moved to southern Illinois too.  Jacob Feiock, sometime after 1870, moved to Olney, Richland, IL.  He is listed in Preston, Richland Co, IL in the 1880 census and died in Olney, Richland Co., IL  on 06 Dec 1893.  His brother, John Feiock  died in St. Joseph, Champaign, IL on 21 Aug 1929.  A half sister, Sophia Fiock married to John Windish, died in Olney on 23 Jul 1897.

(1) The death record for John Fiock born 6 Mat 1848 in Harrison Co., IN, died 21 Aug 1929 St Joseph, Champaign, IL, incorrectly states that his mother, "Elizabeth Helfrer was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania."  The death record for Henry Dutt, son of Barbara Helfer Dutt, says he was born in Pittsburgh 27 July 1840 to Jacob Dutt.
