Milly Hopewell was born about 1783, one of the oldest children of John Hopewell. (1)  Her tombstone gives her name as Milly, the 1850 census gives her name as Amelia, and her son John Hopewell in his memoir referred to her as Permelia.  (2)  She married Abraham White in Bullitt Co., KY on 10 Oct 1808 with her father, John Hopewell, giving consent. (3)  She was 25 and Abraham was 45.  His youngest son, Isaac White, was about 15 at that time.  They had five children in a five year time span.  Then in 1821 they moved to Vermillion Co. IN, a new territory.  Her last son, Alexander White, was born in IN in 1825 when she was about 42.
Her husband, Abraham White, died on 22 Jun 1853.  Milly received a land warrant for his service in the Revolution on 2 Aug 1856.  She never signed the land warrant and as a result there was a legal battle between her children.  Milly died just four years after her husband's death.  Her tombstone reads,  "Milly wife of Abraham White died Oct 26 1857 in the 75th year." (4)  She was buried in Helt's Prairie Cemetery, Vermillion Co., IN
