Abraham Koning

“Abraham Koning/King, baptized September 30, 1694 in New York City, died before August 17, 1737 as a resident of Newark, Essex County, New Jersey. He married in New York City November 4, 1716, Susannah de Foreest, baptized August 19, 1694 in New York City, daughter of Henricus de Foreest and Femmetje Van Flaesbeeck. She died sometime after October 2, 1755 when as the widow of Joris Reyerse she was a witness at the New York Reformed Dutch Church at the baptism of grandson Abraham, son of John Koning and Rebecca Ryckman. She married (2) after July 21, 1744 George Ryerson or Ryerse, who was Joris Martenszen Reyerse, born at the Wallabout, Brooklyn, baptized September 19, 1666 in New York City, the son of Marten Ryerson and Annetje Joris Rapalje, and widower of Anneken Schouten. He died before March 29, 1749 in Pequaneck, Bergen County, New Jersey.
The Abraham Koning family moved from New York City to Second River (Belleville), Essex County, New Jersey, about 1726, and were admitted by letter to the Second River Dutch Reformed Church on March 1, 1728.
Abraham ‘King’ died intestate. His widow, Susannah King, posted bond and was named administratrix August 17, 1737. John King (Abraham’s brother) was fellow bondsman and witnesses were John Foster and Jacobus Bargan.” (1)
Their first four children were baptized in New York. No record has been found for the baptism of their fifth child, Fametje.  After they arrive in Belleville, their last three children were baptized there. (2)  His widow, Susanna De Forest, remarried to Joris Martenszen Reyerse, and died sometime after 1755.  She was the administratrix to the estate of Abraham Koning in 1737   . (3)
