ESCHOL L. MACK
Dies Following Extended Illness
ESCHOL L. MACK, 87, of Route 1, Clinton, died
at the Wallace Nursing Home in Terre Haute at 4 p.m. Wednesday after an
extended illness. He had been in ill health for a number of years.
Mr. Mack was born on July 21, 1867, in the
Helt’s Prairie Community, the son of Alonzo L. Mack and Isabell White and
had lived in this community all of his life. He had been a former
merchant in Dana and worked with the family at the Summit Grove Gravel
Pit. His wife, Laura, preceded him in death in June 1944.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Higgens
of Albuquerque, NM; two sons, Leiton of Wilmington, IL, and Harold of
Clinton; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, and a few nieces and
nephews.
The body was taken to the Frist Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Norris L. King
officiating. Burial will be at the Helt’s Prairie Cemetery.
