Thomas Palmer, Jr. was born in Rowley, Essex, MA in Aug of 1650. His parents were listed as Thomas and Ann Palmer. (1) His father died in 1669 when Thomas was 19 years old. His father's will left him the "merrimack land." (2) In 1675 Thomas Palmer, Jr. served under John Johnson in King Philip's War. (3) Two years later he married Hannah Johnson, his daughter, in Rowley on 9 Jan 1677. (4) Their first two children died shortly after their birth, but they had three sons that grew to adulthood. In 1720 Thomas Palmer distributed land to those three sons. (5) He died September 30, 1732, aged 82 years. (6)

I Thomas Palmer being very weake of body and full of paine, yet of perfect memory and understanding do make and ordain this my last will and testament.
Inprimis I will and give unto my wellbeloved wife Ann two cowes and cow gates and my meddow in bachelours meddow, and my meddow next to M Rogers beyond the Cow Bridge, and two acres of Salt marsh i bought of John Tod, near sha-creeke, with half of my land at home to be devided through out the lott, with one roome in the house, the which shee shall have her choice off, and of the lott when it is devided, and also convenient rooms in the barne, to lay her come and hay in, and to sett her cattell in. Also I will and give unte her, the one halfe of all my household goods, of which shee shall choose, all which Land, and goods, and cattell I will and give unto her during her natural life, and at her decease, my will is that it shall be in her will and power to give and dispose it to all or any one of my children, as shee shall in her discresion see most meete and convenient.
Item as for the rest of my estate my will is that it be devided amongst my three sonns Samuell, Timothy and Thomas, only my will is that my sonn Samuell shall have thirty pounds more than the other, and my will is that my sonn Samuell shall have his share in the house and land at home, my sonn Timothy my will is that he have the village land, my sonn Thomas my will is that hee have my merrimack land and that there pars of land that thus I will to them be equally made up in the rest of my estate acording to my will, and being that my sonn Timothy is at service and is to have part of his wages in meddow which I account as part of my estate as well as the rest, that soe my other children, espechally my eldest son be not wronged by his exspecting to have it for himselfe, my will is that my sonn Timothy shall have the meddow in part of his portion according as it may be valued.
My will is that my wellbeloved wife Ann Palmer, and my Eldest sonn Samuell Palmer to be executors to this my last will and testament unto which this my last will I sett to my hand this 2th of August 1669

THOMAS PALMER, JR.,
The third son of Thomas and Ann, was born in Rowley' Mass., in the 6 Mo,
1650. He married there January 9, 1677-8, Hannah Johnson (daughter of Capt. John
Johnson and Hannah [Crosby]), who was born there 20-9 mo., 1656. He died
September 30, 1732, aged 82 years; his widow dying the 5th of the October
following. They had five children (sons): John (died soon), Samuel (died
soon), Samuel, John, Timothy.
The first recorded mention of this Thomas is in connection with King Philip's
War. He was a young man of twenty-five when this war broke out in the attacks by
the Indians on Swanzey, Plymouth Colony, the 24th of June, and on Mendon the
10th of July, 1675. ---- John Johnson, Thomas Palmer's father-in-law was
the ensign of this company.
In times of peace Thomas Palmer found an honest livelihood in the summer labors
of the field and winter's busy employment in his cooper's shop; prudent and
active, he was a man, according to the Apostolic injunction, "diligent in
business, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord."
The following entry on the church record is not without interest to his
descendants:
"1707. Ordered, That Goodman Thomas Palmer ring the bell on "Sabbath days, and
at nine o'clock every night, and on other occasions, "and sweep the
meeting-house clean once every week, and to have "£5:10:0.
ISSUE:
I. John, born 9 Dec. 1678; died young.
II. Samuel, born 2 Apr. 1682; died soon.
III. Samuel, born 22 May 1686; married 6 Nov. 1707 Mary Felt (daughter of
Samuel5 Felt [George2, George1] by his wife Elizabeth). He removed from Rowley
to Mendon, Mass., 24 Jan'y 1722-3; died there before 1729-30. His widow married
in Upton, Mass., 5 July 1760 Samuel Walker of Hopkinton. He had six children
(all born in Rowley),
