On 30 Jul 1808 the "heirs and representatives" of Hiram Patterson claimed 750 arpents between New Madrid and Little Prairie. Luke Devoir said in 1802 that the land was cultivated to March 1807 and that Hiram Patterson was above the age of 21. However, Hiram Patterson died in 1807 at the age of 18. In 1816 in Breckinridge Co., KY Deed BK C pg 499 the land of Hiram Patterson who died without issue was being distributed to his siblings. His land adjoined the land of Benning Patterson in New Madrid, MO
