Hermetie is referred to as "Hermetie Pieters" at the baptism of her daughter Maritie in 1672. She is named "Harmptje Jans" at the baptism of her son Jans in 1681. (1) She is referred to as "Harampie Janse" in an indenture in 1698 between Lambert Darlant and his wife and Jacobus Vandewater. (2) She was alive in the 1706 census for Stated Island and listed as "Harmentha Dorland." (3)

This indenture made the one and twentieth day of October 1698 between Lambert Dorlant of Staten Island in the County of Richmond, planter and Harampie Janse, his wife and Jocobus Vandewater, Sr. of Brooklyn in Kings County on the island of Nassau, the said Lambert Dorlant and Harampje his wife for and in consideration of the sum of eighty six pounds and ten shillings lawful money of Newyorke, to them in hand paid by Jacobus Vandewater: all that farm or plantation lying situate being in the town of Brooklyn in the County of Kings containing about 40 acres as it is now in fence and formerly bought of John Danron bounded on the East side side by the land of Hendrick Sleght, on the West by the land of Hendrick Stockell and on the north by the Kings Highway.
