Joseph Shaw is named in "A History of Simcoe County" by Andrew f. Hunter, 1909, along with two other Shaw men. Settlers to Innisfil Before 1837. John, Robert and Joseph Shaw were listed in Concession 8 with John on lot 19 and Robert and Joseph on l ot 20. They are most likely three brothers.
In the Wesley Methodist Church baptismal records for Innisfil, Jospeh and
Eliza Shaw have a daughter named Matilda born 08 Jan 1844 and baptized 07 Apr
1844.
John and Ellen Shaw have a son David born 02 Mar 1847 and baptized 03 Oct 1847
and another son, John, born 04 aug 1844 and baptized 23 Sep 1844. These
records are on reel # 1, pg 394-395.
It seems fairly certain that Joseph and John Shaw are brothers.
