Sarah Baker married Jonathan Sturgis shortly before her 19th birthday. They had two children together, the youngest, Samuel Sturgis being born in 1736. Her husband Jonathan Sturgis must have died sometime between then and 1750 for Sarah's father, Nathaniel Baker, wrote his will 30 Apr 1750 leaving his daughter Sarah Sturgis sheets, rug, a cow, etc. and the right to cart away 8 cord of wood "so long as she remains a widow." She remarried the next year to Jabez Linnell.
