According to apparently reliable statements recorded in his son Absalom's family Bible, Peter Bainbridge was born near Princeton, New Jersey, 20 March 1721 and died 9 February 1806, 39 days short of his 85th birthday. He was twice married. His first wife was Joanna Oake, by whom he had one child; both wife and child died in less than two years after the marriage. His second wife was Ruth White, to whom he was married in January 1760, and by whom Peter had seven sons and three daughters. Ruth died 5 November 1807, and would have been 69 years of age on 29 February 1808.
