In 1938-1939 Ann Young Brooke, living in Rosita, Mexico was writing to her brother Field in Clifton, AZ

"Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico Dec 13 (probably 1938) Ann Young Brooke to her brother Field

I have not heard a word from Sister and Jimmie since we left there on the 28th of November.  I feel sorry for Sister.  The doctor had told Sister that Charlie could not live a month longer.  Sister has had that grief ahead of her for many years."

Letter form Virginia Scott Hodges to Ann Young Brooke  Jan 21, 1939

"I hadn't heard any thing about Kittie since she was here the 12 of October (only what you wrote me) until this afternoon.  Kittie and Jim were here.  She is heart broken. and the most pitiful somebody you ever saw.  She said they sent her word Charlie couldn't live  She went to him and took Jim Brown with her and they nursed him.  He died on the 14th of December and they brought him down here and buried him on the 15th of December.  Bishop Capers held services at Porter Lorings  and she and Mr Mc Murray, Mrs. Brown and Jim came down here and buried him.  Had a Private funeral.  She cried when she talked of him.  She said Mac was surely good to her.  He took her to Porter Lorings and let her pick out just what she wanted.  She said all the lines of illness and suffering vanished, and he was once more her handsome boy."

"Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico August 2 (probably 1939) letter from Ann Young Brooke to Field

All I have heard from Sister and Jimmie since I left San Antonio the first of May was a short letter from Jimmie.  Sister has never looked well since Charlie's death.  Jimmie was working."

In another letter, "Charlie has been a very sad case.  He has been sick for a long eighteen year and the poor boy suffered alot."

In 1939 Kittie lived at 826 Kayton Ave  San Antonio, TX
